TRWD continues to monitor reservoir conditions 24 hours a day. Currently all TRWD reservoir spillways are closed. Releases from the Bridgeport spillway will be made later today starting at noon. The releases are part of a swift water rescue training for emergency response personnel. Today’s release will last approximately 5 hours and the rate will slowly increase and peak at a rate of 1,500 cfs. Additional releases are planned for tomorrow and Thursday at varying rates and durations. It should be noted that 1,500 cfs will be the maximum release rate for this training. Any additional updates to flood discharges will be posted here.
All TRWD lakes (including Marine Creek), trail systems and parks remain open to the public and available for normal recreational activities. However, visitors are subject to all rules, regulations and guidance issued for each specific location either federal, state or local during this period of National Emergency. Overnight rainfall totals can be seen in Graphic-1. National Weather Service (NWS) guidance for today’s rain chances is shown in Graphic-2. Rain chances are in the forecast for the next several days, so remain weather aware by following the NWS and the River Forecast Center (RFC) for the latest information regarding the weather and river conditions, respectively.
Please be advised that forecasts and projections are subject to change, and TRWD reservoir operations are based on observed rainfall conditions. This will be the last Reservoir Monitoring Update until conditions dictate otherwise.
