Reservoir Monitoring Update

By April 21, 2020

TRWD continues to monitor reservoir conditions 24 hours a day.  Current reservoir conditions are provided below.  Currently, Eagle Mountain, Cedar Creek, and Richland-Chambers are making flood discharges.  Low level discharges resumed at Cedar Creek last night.  The spillway gates at Eagle Mountain are closed; however a small discharge will continue from the overflow spillway until the pool level falls below elevation 649.1 ft-msl.  Updates to flood discharges will be posted here.

All TRWD lakes (including Marine Creek), trail systems and parks remain open to the public and available for normal recreational activities. However, visitors are subject to all rules, regulations and guidance issued for each specific location either federal, state or local during this period of National Emergency.

No measurable rainfall at the TRWD reservoirs yesterday.  Storm chances return late this evening and run through tomorrow.  Forecasted rainfall depths are relatively low, less than a half inch; however, locally heavy rainfall could surpass the forecasted amounts.  These storms have a chance of being strong to severe, so be sure to remain weather aware.  National Weather Service (NWS) guidance for the upcoming storms can be seen in Graphic-1.  Please continue to follow the NWS and the River Forecast Center (RFC) for the latest information regarding the weather and river conditions, respectively.

Please be advised that forecasts and projections are subject to change, and TRWD reservoir operations are based on observed rainfall conditions.  The next update will come tomorrow morning, unless conditions dictate otherwise.  Please check back.
