Current Conditions
- Today’s rain event is underway, as of 8 a.m. portions of the Bridgeport watershed have received over an inch of rain.
- TRWD East Texas lakes (Cedar Creek and Richland-Chambers) are slowly receding and releasing flood waters.
- The West Fork lakes (Lake Bridgeport (BP) and Eagle Mountain (EM)) have been on the rise since the Sunday rain event; expect additional rise with additional rain today.
Looking Forward
Heavy rain is expected throughout the day today, with chances of severe storms in the Northwest and in the Southeast. See Graphic-1 for rainfall timing today. See Graphic-2 for the latest NWS guidance on severe weather potential. In addition to the ET lakes, TRWD staff will focus on Eagle Mountain Lake, which is less than 3″ below conservation and will likely fill if the forecasted rain materializes. Bridgeport is +12 ft below conservation and has plenty of room to catch the runoff. TRWD staff will continue to monitor conditions and flood discharges will be adjusted accordingly.
Please stay weather aware and follow our partners at the National Weather Service (NWS) and the River Forecast Center (RFC) for the latest information regarding weather and river conditions, respectively.
