Reservoir Monitoring Update

By April 11, 2024

More rain in the TRWD lake watersheds yesterday, see Graphic 1.  The last three days of rain, shown in Graphic 2, has added about 2.1% to TRWD’s total water storage.

Reservoir Operations

*Projections below are based on conditions up to the time of publication.  Additional rainfall and spillway operations past the time of publication are not accounted for in these projections.

Cedar Creek – Yesterday’s rain created a second rise in water level.  The pool is nearing its peak and is expected to recede today through the weekend.

Richland-Chambers – Water levels have risen the past 24-hours, but the rate of rise is slowing, and the peak is near.  An additional one, maybe two inches, of rise is possible but the general water level trend will be downward for the weekend.

Reservoir staff is monitoring conditions and will make updates to spillway operations as needed to safely pass the excess flood water and return the reservoir back to conservation elevation. Updates regarding spillway gate changes from TRWD lakes will be posted to the Lake Level Blog as they occur.

Outlook

Sunny skies and warming temps are instore for the weekend, see NWS guidance below. Rain chances are expected to return on Monday; more on this in future posts.

Next update will come tomorrow morning.  Until then have a wonderful day!
