Reservoir Monitoring Update

By June 3, 2021

The City of Fort Worth has closed Lake Worth effective June 1st at 9:30 a.m. See City of Fort Worth website for additional information.

Weather Update

TRWD continues to monitor reservoir conditions 24 hours a day. Less than 1/4″ of rainfall was recorded in the Upper Trinity watersheds in the last 24 hours. Richland-Chamber and Cedar Creek watersheds saw little to no rain. See Graphic-1 for rainfall totals in the last 24 hours ending at 7 am this morning. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible today and tonight. Even though chances are low in North Texas, heavy storms can not be ruled out. Rain chances continue through the weekend with scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms possible every day through Tuesday. See Graphic-2 for NWS guidance on today and the remainder of the week.

Reservoir Conditions

Current reservoir conditions are shown below. Bridgeport discharges started yesterday. Pool is at a few inches over conservation and slowly falling. Discharges continue at Eagle Mountain with the pool a few inches over conservation and slowly falling. Discharges continue at Cedar Creek with the pool just over conservation. Discharges have been increased at Richland-Chambers this morning, the pool is expected to be at or near its crest and should begin receding later today.  Staff will continue to monitor conditions and make discharges as needed to safely move excess water through the system. Updates to lake status and flood discharges will be posted here.

Please be advised that forecasts and projections are subject to change, and TRWD reservoir operations are based on observed rainfall conditions. The next update will come this evening, unless conditions dictate otherwise.  Please check back.  You can also follow @TRWD_News on Twitter to receive notification of any new posts to this Lake Level blog.
