TRWD continues to monitor reservoir conditions 24 hours a day. It has been a wet weekend and the forecast shows that this trend will continue throughout the week. See Graphic-1 for rainfall totals for the past weekend. National Weather Service (NWS) guidance for today shows consistent rain during the day and the development of severe storms from West to East in the afternoon through the night, which can bring multiple additional inches of rain. See Graphic-2 for guidance on today’s rain . See Graphic-3 for the latest predictions of how much rain we can expect to receive through Wednesday.
Current reservoir conditions are shown below. Richland-Chambers and Cedar Creek are making flood discharges. Cedar Creek has been declining in the past few days as discharges have been occurring, but with the latest rainfall its elevation is expected to rise again until further discharges are needed. Lake Bridgeport is below conservation, but it is expected to increase given the past weather conditions and the forecasted rains. At this time lake Bridgeport is not expected to fill, but that could change with additional rainfall. Staff will continue to monitor conditions and make discharges as needed to safely move excess water through the system. Updates to lake status and flood discharges will be posted here.
