Beginning today TRWD will begin posting lake level projections until further notice. TRWD staff has been producing this information for many years and as a service to the many people who show interest in the TRWD lakes, we are making them publicly available. The projections are developed by simulating 100 hydrologic traces in our Riverware System Operations model. These simulations account for the variability of rainfall, evaporation, and water usage that the TRWD system must accommodate. These projections represent a range of possible lake level outcomes given the aforementioned input. Currently Eagle Mountain Lake is trending in the “Below Normal Rainfall” range due to high temperatures and low rainfall totals.
Going forward, TRWD plans to publish a projection for each of the four lakes one a month. The projections are typically ready during the last week of the month. The next round of projections will be ready late July and will be posted here. Until then, please see the June 21st Eagle Mountain Lake projection, below. Plots for Bridgeport, Cedar Creek and Richland-Chambers plots are soon to come.
