Conservation Student Assistant

Salary: $18.00+ per hour

 

Location: Fort Worth, TX

 

 

Position Summary:

The Conservation Student Assistant will support conservation activities and coordinate efforts with customer city staff.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

· Support all water conservation programs and activities

· Support adult education program planning, in-person activities, scheduling, inventories, and reports

· Assist with youth education program planning, in-person activities, scheduling, inventories, and reports

· Create social media posts and event advertisements

· Maintain familiarity with strategic District levels of service

· Continuous improvement monitoring and innovation efforts

· Perform other duties as required

 

Required Experience:

· Less than one (1) year of related experience

· Excellent organization, analytical and communications skills

· Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

· Ability to use computers, copiers, cameras, and other office equipment

· Ability to work on several concurrent assignments

· Work effectively with a team or independently with minimal supervision

· Under guidance, ability to assemble, evaluate and disseminate information

· Must have a dependable vehicle, valid car insurance and good driving record

· Able to occasionally work evening and/or weekend hours

· Able to occasionally lift and carry materials up to 25 pounds. Duties may require maintaining a physical condition necessary for sitting, kneeling, crouching, standing, or walking for prolonged period of times both indoors and outdoors

 

Desired Experience:

· One (1) year of experience in water conservation, environmental management, horticulture, ecology, or related field

· Experience with graphic illustration software

· Proficient in Spanish

 

Required Education/Certification/License:

· Current graduate or undergraduate student attending an accredited college. Completed coursework in Environmental Science, Water Resources, Public Administration, Communications or in a related field

· Valid Texas driver’s license

 

Desired Education/Certification/License:

· Two (2) years of completed coursework in Environmental Science, Water Resources, Public Administration, Communications or in a related field

· Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee typically resides within an office or cubicle and may have occasional fieldwork that will expose the employee to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
