Community Relations Coordinator

Salary: $26.74+ per hour (pay rate dependent upon qualifications) 

 

Location: Fort Worth, TX

 

Position Summary:

The Community Relations Coordinator is responsible for increasing Tarrant Regional Water District’s visibility in the communities we serve, maximizing TRWD brand stories and driving community engagement through our owned communication channels (social, blogs, e-newsletters, etc.). This role disseminates District-related publicity and good-will information internally as well as externally to our communities served, in support of TRWD’s strategic goals.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal teams to explore effective storytelling around differentiating research, projects, initiatives, etc. across TRWD
  • Support creative public relation strategies and outreach initiatives to help achieve TRWD’s objectives and fulfill strategic plans, as outlined by department director
  • Coordinate with the Community Relations and Marketing Manager to distribute content to blogs, social media, email broadcasts, and other requested channels
  • Utilize systems and platforms to engage in social listening, reputation management, and social monitoring to gather insight and develop a broader outreach and marketing strategy, in conjunction with the communication department teams
  • Responsible for maintaining a content calendar, copywriting as needed, scheduling, publishing, daily monitoring, and growing audience engagement across all owned platforms
  • Collaborate with the department director, Web Management team, the News & Media Relations team, the Creative Communications team, and the Communications Project Manager to provide creative solutions, strategies, etc. to support key TRWD initiatives, projects, etc.
  • Utilize social media management tools i.e., Hootsuite, Sprout Social, etc. and create reports identifying gaps and potential growth opportunities
  • Collaborate across TRWD to identify, plan, and gather potential stories and drive key communication initiatives, while educating departments on best practices and social media responsibilities, as needed
  • Conduct market research and develop multi-platform social media strategies, under the direction of the Community Relations and Marketing Manager
  • Maintain familiarity with strategic District levels of service
  • Continuous improvement monitoring and innovation efforts
  • Perform other duties as required

 

Required Experience:

  • One (1) to three (3) years of related experience
  • Demonstrated skills in the use of social media and content management tools such as Hootsuite, etc.
  • Experienced in platforms Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn
  • Experience developing and executing social media advertising campaigns and using analytics to optimize for maximum ROI
  • Ability to learn digital systems and platforms i.e., Mailchimp, Canva, SurveyMonkey, Signup Genius, etc.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Must be organized and detail oriented with strong planning and problem-solving skills

Required Education/Certification/License:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, or communications or four (4) years of required experience
  • Valid Texas driver’s license
