Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) General Manager Dan Buhman has been appointed Chair of the Texas Water Development Board’s Region C Water Planning Group, effective February 2025.
Region C is one of 16 regional water planning groups established by the TWDB to help develop and revise a comprehensive water plan for Texas for the next 50 years. It covers all or parts of 16 counties in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area, serving over 7 million residents and representing one of the fastest-growing regions in Texas.
“I believe the work we do to supply water for this region could not be more important,” said Buhman. “The benefits to this region extend out to the entire State of Texas and beyond. The work done by the Region C Board is an important part of making Texas a great place to live, do business, and visit.”
As Chair, Buhman will lead the diverse group of stakeholders in addressing critical challenges facing the region, including rapid population growth, and limited new water supplies. His appointment strengthens the collaborative relationship between TRWD and regional water planning entities as they work to secure North Texas’ water future.
