TRWD continues to monitor reservoir conditions 24 hours a day. The umbrellas can stay in the the closet for another day or two, but make sure they are handy for the upcoming week. National Weather Service (NWS) guidance for next week has been fairly consistent the past few days. The main takeaway being, there will be rain and there will be multiple inches of it. See Graphic-1 for guidance on today through next Thursday. See Graphic-2 for the latest predictions of how much rain we can expect to receive.
Current reservoir conditions are shown below. Richland-Chambers and Cedar Creek are making flood discharges. Cedar Creek has been on the rise the past few days as water from the upper portion of the watershed has made its way to the lake. That said, Cedar Creek is near its crest for this event and should start falling later today. Swift water rescue training at Lake Bridgeport has been completed. There will be no additional releases from Bridgeport unless necessitated by flood conditions. Staff will continue to monitor conditions and make discharges as needed to safely move excess water through the system. Updates to lake status and flood discharges will be posted here.
Please be advised that forecasts and projections are subject to change, and TRWD reservoir operations are based on observed rainfall conditions. The next update will come Monday morning, unless conditions dictate otherwise. Please check back.
