Current Conditions
Rain fell overnight across all TRWD watersheds. See Graphic-1 for a map of the rainfall depths from the past 24-hours as of 7 am. The Richland-Chambers watershed received 2-4″ watershed wide last night. Cedar Creek watershed received 1.5″. In the West Fork, Bridgeport and Eagle Mountain watersheds received 0.3″ and 0.9″ respectively.
Both Richland-Chambers and Cedar Creek Lake levels are above conservation and levels are increasing from last night’s rain. TRWD staff are adjusting discharges as needed to safely pass additional inflows from this most recent rain event to manage lake levels and downstream conditions as safely as possible. All changes to releases will be posted to the Lake Level Blog. The West Fork lakes (Bridgeport and Eagle Mountain) are not expected to fill from the runoff generated by the rain.
Looking Forward
Rainfall from overnight is moving out of the area this morning. Low chance of additional storms this afternoon, but much of the area is expected to stay dry the rest of today. Periodic chances for rain will continue through next week. Depths are expected to be 0.5” or less in the TRWD watersheds based on the NWS forecast. Strong to severe thunderstorms and isolated pockets of heavy rainfall will be possible at times particularly Monday and Wednesday. Forecasts from NWS are subject to change. Please follow our partners at the National Weather Service (NWS) and the River Forecast Center (RFC) for the latest information regarding weather and river conditions, respectively.
