The rainfall forecast is tracking in the area and TRWD watersheds have gotten some rain. In the past 24 hours, the West Fork system received most of the rain, with Bridgeport watershed getting 0.5″ of rain and Eagle Mountain receiving 1.1″ on average. The East Texas lakes (Richland-Chambers and Cedar Creek) did not get as much, receiving only 0.1″ of rain on average. See Graphic-1 for rainfall totals over the past 24 hours.
Flood wise, we are still watching closely the East Texas lakes. Richland-Chambers is only 0.57 ft below conservation level (315 ft). With additional rain in the forecast, it is possible that the lake will fill later this week if rains materialize. Cedar Creek has been discharging flood waters for a few days and lake pool is just over conservation. Flood discharges at the East Texas lakes will be adjusted accordingly.
Graphic-2 below shows a map of rainfall expected in the TRWD watersheds over the next five days. Overall, an additional 0.8″ to 1.2″ is expected across TWRD watersheds. See Graphic-3 for NWS Guidance for additional details on the next system entering the area.
