Reservoir Monitoring Update

By March 2, 2023

Current reservoir conditions are shown below. Yesterday’s rain had little to no impact on TRWD’s lakes. More rain is expected tonight. Additionally, severe weather is expected (wind, hail, and tornados). Remain weather aware. See Graphic-1 for the National Weather Service guidance on the expected rainfall tonight.

Currently Cedar Creek Reservoir’s spillway is closed. The lake elevation is approximately 8” from conservation level. This could reach conservation level at some point in the next week depending on rainfall.

TRWD continues to monitor reservoir conditions 24 hours a day. Staff will continue to monitor conditions and make discharges as needed to safely move excess water through the system. Updates to lake status and flood discharges will be posted here. The next update will come tomorrow.

Please continue to follow the National Weather Service (NWS)  and the River Forecast Center (RFC) for the latest information regarding weather and river conditions, respectively.

***Please visit TRWD’s new watershed data viewer at  www.trwd.onerain.com . You can see the same rain, stream, and lake gages the Flood Team monitors during an event.  You can also check out this YouTube video to see what it is all about!
